What We Do
Our experience and research indicate that the most effective way to enhance overall individual mental health care is to involve families.

TEAM BE BETTER; teaches what family-centered mental health care excellence looks like through compassionate support, education, and advocacy.

To us, a family is a group of individuals who share a strong emotional bond, support each other, and provide love and care. This definition creates a personal TEAM for each individual.

Mental Health Education
TEAM BE BETTER; consultations are NOT therapy sessions, but they are unique. Consultations include screenings, tailored guidance, referrals, and an indefinite number of family or one-on-one sessions. We lift barriers to mental health care.
Family-Centered Support
TEAM BE BETTER; curricula go beyond the basics of mental health. Director of Family Engagement and Network Development, Dr. Michael Brashears, PsyD, provides personalized expertise and guidance that families deserve. We help motivate forward momentum.
Peer Advocacy
Our work ranges from family advocacy, to community and organizational advocacy, and legislative reform. We teach you what you need to say and give you the tools to feel confident and heard. We also strive to develop a TEAM BE BETTER; provider network.

Acknowledging Family Strengths & Diversity

"Families encounter significantly different levels of support and access when assisting their children with physical illnesses compared to mental illnesses. This is the age range when we can make a life-saving difference with mental health."
